The aim of this study is to assess the Health Information Course regarding its purpose according to teachers’ perspectives. The reasearch is descriptive in design and the research population includes 71 teachers among 82 who teach in the 9th class and have agreed to participate in the study in Kecioren. The data have been collected y applying a form which has been developed by the researcher herself and analysed by SPSS packet program. For analysing the dichotomous variables chi-square test has been used and the data have been presented by frequency distribution. The level of significance is accepted as 0.05. The 81.7 % and 70.4 % of the teachers have found the duration and objectives of the course efficient and 54.9 % of them have found themselves sufficient in teaching the course while 40.0 % have had difficulty in giving the course. The 69.1 % and 55.2 % of teachers have thought that the students will gain information and competency in developing healthy behaviors. As the percentages of teachers who have shared the idea that the students have gained information and the competency in developing healthy behaviours are low, and 98.6 % of them are graduates of the department of biology, it became clear that the real owners of this professional field should give this course and the relevant course should be reevaluated according to its content and learning-teaching process.
