THE INVESTIGATION OF THE TEACHERS’ INTERPERSONAL SELF-EFFICACY BELIEFS ACCORDING TO GENDER, AGE, TYPE OF SCHOOL GRADUATED, AND MARITAL STATUS

Abstract

This researh was aimed to examine whether teacher “Interpersonal Self-Efficacy” beliefs vary according to gender, age, type of school gradueted, and marital status. Research samples consist of 784 teachers who work at preperation course, primary school and secondary school in Mersin. Interpersonal self-efficacy beliefs scale developed by Brouwers and Tomic (2002) and adapted to Turkish culture by Çapri and Kan (2006), and Personal Information Sheet prepared by researchers were used to collect data in instruments. In order to analyze data, “t” test and “ANOVA” was implemented to determine whether teacher interpersonal self efficacy beliefs vary according to gender, age, type of school gradueted, and marital status. As a result of the research, it has been found that, teachers interpersonal self efficacy beliefs differ according to their gender, age, type of school gradueted and marital status. The findings were also discussed considering the literature review.
