ABSTRACT

In this study, it was aimed to determine their demographics, attitudes toward teaching profession, and educational perceptions of senior students who attend the Computer Education & Instructional Technology (CEIT) departments. For this purpose, a questionnaire entitled “Faculty of Education students’ profile” was used to collect data from 413 senior students from 16 CEIT -departments. Data were analyzed by using Chi-Square and t-test. Results indicated that the majority of students are male and mostly graduated from vocational and technical high schools which give extra point in university entrance exam. In terms of their attitudes toward teaching profession, most students preferred this department because of their intention to become a teacher, high possibility of finding a job, and their score in the university entrance exam. Pertaining to their educational perceptions, it was concluded that those preservice teachers hold more liberal ideas rather than conservative ones.
