Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to determine the weights of the following elements that are used in predicting the graduate achievement: Graduate Education Entrance Examination (GEEE) which is used for admission to graduate programs with or without thesis, Interview, Undergraduate Point Avarage (UPA), and Composite Evaluation Measure (CEM). The corresponding participants 251 graduate students who selected from a graduate education programs of a graduate school.

As a result of the analyses, it was found that the relationship between GPA (1) and GEE was not significant, (2) there was a low but significant relationship between the interview scores and CEM of the general and the thesis group, whereas, no significant relationship was found for the without thesis group (3) the relationship between GPA and UPA was not significant for general and without thesis group, this relationship was found low but significant for with thesis group. (4) The relationship between GPA and CEM was low, but significant. Also (5), in predicting the GPA, GEE-equal weighted score and interview score showed significant contributions for general group, whereas, only interview score significantly explained the variances in GPA with thesis group. Findings were discussed based on the related literature.
