SCHOOL GOAL STRUCTURE – TEACHER SCALE ADAPTING INTO TURKISH

Abstract

As research on achievement goals has increased, so has the number of different measures of goal orientations. In this article, the authors examined as a popular scale, the Patterns of Adaptive Learning Survey (PALS) of Perceptions of the School Goal Structure for Students-Teacher Scales- in terms of factorial validity, internal consistency reliability, and distributional characteristics in Turkish teachers (n=178). Results of principal components analyze were showed that Turkish form of the PALS has mostly similiar consruct with original PALS-teacher scales. Internal consistency reliabilities were sufficent and similar to original ones. In this context, Turkish version of the PALS teacher scales can be use as valid and reliable an instrument in related fields in Turkey.
